Dr. Jocelyn M. Nadeau
Associate Professor of Chemistry
Bio
Since 2005, Jocelyn Nadeau has been at Marist teaching organic chemistry lecture and laboratory courses and conducting research in collaboration with undergraduates. She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for organic chemistry with her students and mentoring them through the process of discovering and reaching their future career goals. Her research is focused on the synthesis and characterization of complex organic molecules with emissive or electrochemical properties for molecular electronics applications. She has coauthored several peer-reviewed publications with her students, and they have presented their research at numerous local and national conferences.
Education
BA, Chemistry, Smith College, 1997
PhD, Chemistry, Brown University, 2003
Postdoctoral Associate (Swager Group), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 2003-2005
Research Interests / Areas of Focus
Design, synthesis, and study of organic molecules with complex structures that exhibit interesting electrochemical and photophysical properties.
