Marist offers a variety of application timelines, including deadlines and decision options to best suit your preferences. Learn which option is best for you.

Which Application Option Is Right For You?

Early Decision I

There are two Early Decision options for students who know °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êapp is unequivocally their first choice, and who want to receive an admission decision in mid-December. This binding option requires admitted students to withdraw applications from other colleges they’re admitted to and submit a non-refundable deposit by February 15.

Deadline: November 15

Early Action

Marist also offers a Early Action option for students who may not be ready to commit. The deadline for this non-binding option is November 15, and decisions are mailed mid-January. Accepted candidates will have until May 1 to submit a non-refundable deposit.

Early Decision II

The second binding option is Early Decision II. Early Decision II applications must be completed by February 15, and decisions will be mailed in late February. Accepted candidates are required to submit a non-refundable deposit by March 1.

Regular Decision

The last deadline for first-year applicants is Regular Decision. These non-binding applications must be received by February 15, and decisions are mailed in mid-March. Accepted candidates have until May 1 to submit a non-refundable deposit.

Accepted Student Profile: Class of 2028

We selected our class of over 1,200 first-year students from over 11,200 applicants. This year's first-year student class includes individuals from all corners of the map! From the Midwest to the South, to every state in the Northeast, as well as Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, and 53 countries are represented in the class in 2028. Here's the breakdown:

GPA: 91-97 or 3.3 – 3.8 (recalculated)
The middle 50% of accepted students averaged between 91 and 97 for their GPA.

SAT:
The middle 50% scored between 1240 and 1360.

Students interested in applying should rank in the top half of their graduating class and hold a recalculated average of 88-93 or 3.1 – 3.7. Leadership qualities and high school activities are also important. Candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • 4 years of English
  • 3 years of Science
  • 3 years of Math
  • 3 years of History/Social Studies
  • 2 years of a foreign language

We understand that you've worked hard to complete AP, IB, and dual enrollment college courses while still in high school, and we strive to reward your hard work. Marist's AP and IB credit policies are flexible and student-friendly. Our Transfer Credit Roadmap will estimate how many of your AP, IB, and dual enrollment college credits will transfer to your desired degree program at Marist. We'll ensure you make the most of your college experience, whether that means accelerating your degree, creating additional time to study abroad, pursuing another internship, or adding a minor or second major to your degree plan.

To check the status of your application, please visit your personalized. If you completed a Common Application you will create a new account. If you completed a Marist application you will login with the same email and password you created for the application.  Please note: Admission decisions will first be delivered via 1st Class US Post Office Mail and then be available via the student portal. Click here to learn more.
