Della Lee Sue

Assistant Professor of Economics

Bio

Most of the courses that I teach are at the undergraduate level, although I occasionally teach an economics course in our MPA and MBA programs. I love teaching economics because it is a practical, relevant subject. Yes, economists are notorious for making assumptions and over-simplifying the real world, but somehow the concepts and analyses make sense to me.

I usually teach in a traditional classroom setting but now teach online as well as in a hybrid format. I admit that I was originally very skeptical about teaching in an online format, but I have since taught many courses in all three formats, and the online format seems to work quite well.

When I am not logged onto a computer or working with students and colleagues on campus, I can usually be found in the wilds of Ulster County, where I live with my husband and a German Shepherd, who is a very happy dog. We have two daughters, one of whom is married and currently living in Hawaii with her husband. Our younger daughter is enjoying graduate school in Minnesota. I love to cook (and eat!) and fold paper (“origami").
